grooves

round &
in the army along the coast
everything cast to the hills
& recorded in other words
you could say theyd come home to lay
like characters
with hairy limbs
skip down the flank
in bug combat
competition brings
virgin athletes by
some conceal stones &
will receive the stick
say todays colours
interfere & risk
the residing beasts
redefine & feast
on the preceding
mark their inbreeding

outside almonds

it belongs there hard & red
as if to say im dewless
a rubber band
swept free of ceremony
make it heavy & only
a holiday of the brain
they look pink but theyre not & all day wrest
drive her to the back the sunlight blasting
taken up a shawl or cat in our arms
theres a hook in the skin somewhere or clay
ploughing to seed or lose always in the deep
cold as
blossom
fresh per
haps live
branches
in love
rain shapes
itself
the graves hard & red there
as if to say plastic grows
sunk & lost beginnings
to others but to us
their presence enough
it becomes background
before & again
not in words it says
the living must come first
its your origin look
only some see mirrors
some see
spirits
others
spaces
